Upcoming dancehall artist, GABRIEL

Gabriel, a young and promising artist surfaced the dancehall scene in 1999. Equipped with a powerful voice, he has put out several good hits and delivered excellent stage performances.
His well known recording 'Long, Plain and Straight', although controversial did very well in Kingston's dancehall. “ It was looked at as a song that disrespected the government of the day” said Gabriel and it therefore did not get airplay. He believes that his lyrical delivery is by no means meant to offend the public, as it is an artistic expression of life experiences. In the Bible, Gabriel was a prophet and I see myself as doing the same by talking about things that are going on now," he said. (Jamaica Gleaner June 4, 2002)
Gabriel was born in the Stand Pipe area of Kingston 6, Jamaica as Levardes Fisher on January 6, 1979. His career started in 1997 through the recording of This is How Its Gonna Be Done, a combination with Corner Stone, produced by Tony Links of Links label.

During 1999-2000 he was featured on several of Jamaica’s most exclusive Stage Shows including, Saddle To The East 99, Champions in Action 99-, Spectrum 2000- The Millennium project that boasted a top of the top lineup that includes artistes such as Capleton, Buju Bantion, Baby Cham and Cobra. Although he has been out of the spotlight recently, Gabriel continues to record. His Latest singles include:
Vex, Down a Africa,Rolling By, Strong Side, Fun Again, and Bun it Up.
With continued hits such as these, Gabriel’s career will undoubtedly reach the top and continue to take dancehall music to the next level.
